7 booked for abusing officials at proposed Bandora STP site

Ponda Police have booked an offence against seven persons on charges of abusing officers who had gone to supervise work on the Sewage Treatment Project at Undir-Bandora and stopping them from carrying on their job.

Executive Engineer Pradip Gawade and other officials had gone with equipment to start work on the proposed STP at Undir but the locals had stopped them from carrying on the work and the situation became tense.  

A Ponda police and Joint Mamlatdar Ruchika Birje had rushed to the site and brought the situation under control. PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral had invited a delegation of locals to discuss the issue on Thursday evening.  

On Friday morning, an offence was registered after a complaint was filed in the police station. PI Tushar Lotlikar is investigating the case.
