The 40th Annual Raising Day was held at the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services at the Fire Force Regional Training Centre, St-Inez, Panaji on January 21 and 79 students of the fire personnel across the State were awarded scholarships.
Director of Fire & Emergency Services Nitin V Raiker was the chief guest, while others present included Rajendra A. Haldankar (Dy. Director-Fire), Francisco Mendes (Divisional Officer South Zone), Shripad Gawas (Divisional Officer North Zone), Bosco Ferrao (Asst. Divisional Officer, North Zone), Deepak Sawant (Hon. Secretary, Goa Fire Service Welfare Fund), Simson Almeida (Hon. Treasurer Goa Fire Service Welfare Fund) and Neha Nitin Raiker.
Director of Fire & Emergency Services Nitin Raiker congratulated all students who received the scholarships for the academic year 2022-23 and requested them to excel in their studies and achieve success for their future academic career.
He further stated that the Goa Fire Service Welfare Fund in the past has provided financial assistance to the needy children who are pursuing higher education in professional colleges. He also stated that the Managing Committee has decided to further extend assistance to the needy and deserving students and have also decided to provide financial assistance with the approval of the Government.
Magician Ketan Kumar and his team from Sawantwadi later presented a magic show to entertain the children during the Annual Raising Day function. Station Fire Officer Ravi Naik compered the function and later proposed the vote of thanks.
