Around 80 sites have been identified for garbage disposal in 102 villages of North Goa.
Out of the 80 sites identified, only 18 sites have got the NOC from the authorities. There are still some villages which are yet to identify the garbage disposal sites.
The North Goa Collector has asked the Directorate of Panchayats to ask these local bodies to identify such sites for 100 per cent compliance.
Two garbage disposal projects in the district have got technical sanction from the Public Works Department.
As part of the exercise to comply with the NGT order on waste management, North Goa District Collector is holding regular review meetings to take stock of the situation in the district.
