Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has claimed that over 8.68 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHAs) have been created, accounting for more than half of Goa's population as per the last census.
"Goa is setting benchmarks in digital healthcare innovation with the creation of over 8.68 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHAs)," Rane said.
The development empowers the ABHA holders with accessible and seamless healthcare services and helps them to securely store, access and share their health records digitally, he said.
ABHA is a 14-digit unique number by which the user can access as well as share their health records digitally and is a key feature of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aimed at greater integration of health infrastructure in the country.
Apart from safely storing one's health records digitally, it also permits the user to access their records from multiple healthcare providers they may have availed services from.
Also, users can use the ABHA to interact with verified healthcare providers. It can be created by downloading the ABHA app from Google Play.
"This milestone reflects our commitment to delivering efficient, patient-centric healthcare solutions, making Goa a leader in digital health transformation," Rane said.
