87 artefacts on display at exhibition in city

Akash Ankush Gaude’s prize-winning artwork depicting the message that the monitor lizard should not be killed for assembling the Goan traditional musical instrument 'Ghumot' is the cynosure of all eyes at the State-level art exhibition by the Kala Academy in the Art Gallery, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto-Panaji.

The art exhibition was inaugurated at the hands of member secretary Dinesh Arlekar recently.

The exhibition that will remain open for the public till March 27, from 10 am to 6.30 pm has 87 artefacts displayed.

The artworks by students are in three categories - painting and graphic print, applied and graphic design as well as sculpture.

Akash Ankush Gaude’s prize-winning artwork has been displayed in the sculpture section. In the same section Nehal Parkar, Firuza Rashida Rodrigues, Tushar Patil, Sakshi Naik, Gauravi Shet Kudtarkar, Prabhav Gaonkar, Prathamesh Velip have also displayed their eye-catching artefacts.

In the painting and graphic section, Siya Atul Pandit, Siddhan Gurudas Kundaikar, Narayan Vernekar, Nitin R Narvekar, Prayuj Velip, Nikhil Suresh Gaonkar, Rishikesh Satardekar, Vihang Narvekar, Rohit Pagi, Atharv Sudatta Shenvi Mandrekar, Manda Suresh Shinde, Sneha Ramesh Vadkar, Abhilasha Goswami, Jorden Inacio D’mello and Remona Dias have displayed their work.

The applied art & graphic design section has Sidharth Vasant Turi, Dilkhus Gurav, Scully Fernandes, Sairaj Tari, Shweta Nagde, Mayur Naik, Nidhi Anand Amonkar, Shumbham Surve, Atmaram Sawant and others.

The artworks are created by the students of Goa College of Art.
