The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination for the academic year 2021-22 conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary examination, recorded a pass percentage of 92.75% as announced on Wednesday. Out of the 20,345 who attempted 18,869 students cleared the examination.
The girls outshined the boys once again this year and as many as 116 schools secured 100% pass percentage.
Announcing the results, Chairman of Goa Board Bhagirath Shetye said, “Out of 10,359 boys who attempted 9,491 cleared the exam, recording pass percentage of 91.62% while out of 9,986 girls who attempted 9,378 cleared, recording pass percentage of 93.91%. He further said that there was a dip of almost 7% in the result when compared to the result of the year 2021, which registered a pass percentage of 99.72%.
Shetye further mentioned that to deal with the school closures and challenges of conducting examinations due to the spread of the Covid pandemic during the academic year 2021-2022, the Board adopted the special assessment scheme. The special assessment scheme included two terminal board examinations, 1st Term (MCQ’s/Subjective) examination held during Dec-Jan 2021-22 and 2nd Term (Subjective) held in April 2022. Each paper was of 90 minutes duration and based on 50% of the portion. The final result is prepared which includes performance of First Term exam (50% portion), Second Term exam (50% portion) and performance of Internal Assessment (20%). The examination was conducted at 31 centres and 173 sub-centres across the State.
Among the 116 schools that secured 100% results, 74 are aided schools, 7 unaided schools and 35 are government schools. Besides this, 916 students availed of sports merit marks facility of which 17 students passed the examination with these marks registering a pass percentage of 0.090%. 466 children with special needs also cleared the examination.
Shetye further announced that the last date to seek a revaluation of answer books is June 15, 2022 while the last date for supply of photocopies of answer books is June 10 and to request for verification of marks in absentia will be june 15.
Meanwhile, the SSC April exam 2022 statement of grades/marks will be made available from June 04 as per schedule: Bardez and Pernem - Dnyanprasarak Vidyalaya, Mapusa; Bicholim & Sattari - Shri Shantadurga HS Bhaili Peth, Bicholim; Canacona, Mormugao, Quepem, Salcete and Sanguem - Loyola HSl, Margao; Ponda and Tisk/Dharbandoda - GVM’s HSSl Ponda; Schools from Tiswadi taluka and Porvorim shall collect the statement of grades/marks from Goa Board’s Office between 9 am to 1 pm.
