The daily count of fresh Covid-19 infections in Goa shot up to 42 in the Tuesday-Wednesday 24-hour reporting period and positivity rose to above six per-cent.
Directorate of Health Services (DHS) daily bulletin said, 631 samples were tested in these 24 hours and the positivity rate rose to 6.66%.
The State also saw 26 full recoveries and the total active caseload of the State rose to 149, the health bulletin said.
Meanwhile, the State will launch a one-day special Covid-19 vaccination drive at all primary and community health centres in the State on June 5 to ensure maximum coverage, particularly the booster dose in cases where more than nine months have elapsed since the second dose, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
Sawant further said, the vaccination will be free for senior citizens and all frontline workers and health workers.
He said, it is important that maximum coverage is achieved and appealed to all to go to the nearest PHCs and take their first dose, second dose or booster as applicable on June 5 (Sunday).
