AABE biennial conference
PANAJI: Seven countries including India will participate in the 5-day, 26th biennial conference of the Asian Association for Biology Education (AABE) from September 20 to 24, at International Centre Goa, Dona Paula.
Addressing a press conference in Panaji, Dnyaneshwar Pednekar said, “This is the second time the conference is being held in India. The participating countries include Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates and India. Twenty-three foreign delegates have already registered for the conference. The inauguration will be held on September 21 which will witness a keynote address by Prof H A Ranganath.”
The conference will revolve around the theme - Trends in Biology Education and Research: Practices and Challenges. The sub-themes include learning biology through inquiry, impact of local issues relevant to biology in global scenario, strategies for awareness of community health through biology, ecological approach to learn biology, educational technology for biology education and classroom teaching, learning and assessment, among others.
The five-day conference will also witness scientific sessions, workshops on teaching methodologies and plenary sessions.
