Road safety week in Vasco
VASCO: As a part of Road Safety Week from September 19 to 25, Vasco Police and Vasco Traffic Cell on Monday started creating road safety awareness among bus drivers and conductors.
Speaking to The Goan, Vasco PSI John Fernandes of Vasco Police station informed that as safety week drive, Vasco Police on Monday morning conducted an awareness drive among bus drivers and conductors and directed them to follow traffic rules and signals.
“Vasco Traffic Cell and Vasco Police will conduct a series of road safety awareness talks which will include school students, teachers, college students, citizens and NGOs,” informed PSI Fernandes.
On Tuesday, Vasco traffic cell will visit local schools and on Wednesday, they will have an interactive session with college students.
PSI Fernandes added that they will also conduct awareness on road safety among the tourist taxi drivers, motorcycles riders and drivers.
“On September 25, we will enforce a special drive against tinted glasses, helmets and talking on mobile phones while driving/riding four and two wheelers,” said PSI Fernandes.
