VASCO
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday complained to the Asst Director of Transport (ADT) and Dy Collector in Vasco regarding the movement of buses and fares for commuters.

AAP Mormugao convenor Parshuram Sonurlekar said the AAP had filed a complaint against bus operators plying on KTC bus stand-MPT Colony and KTC bus stand-Bogda routes for allegedly charging 50% extra fare, failing to drop passengers to the KTC bus stand and halting for over 30 minutes at Vasco.

“People in Vasco are suffering due to overpriced bus fares and have complained to the AAP Vasco unit in the matter. We decided to take up this matter with the deputy collector and expect an early resolution. Forget about free public transport, the government has failed to provide basic transportation facilities,” said Sonurlekar.

“Buses on these two routes, instead of moving till the KTC bus stand, begin and end their trips from Vasco, as against the sanctioned routes and hence, people from MPT Colony and Bogda travelling to other places are compelled to alight at Vasco and take another bus from Vasco to the KTC bus stand, because these buses refuse to proceed till the KTC bus stand.”

“Similarly, people from distant places need to board a bus to reach Vasco, after which they can board buses to proceed to MPT Colony or Bogda. People are forced to board two buses because these buses don’t agree to move on their sanctioned routes,” he said.

“Besides, these passengers are changed over 50% of the actual fare and these buses are also stationed for over 30 minutes before every trip near Damodar Mangalji building in Vasco.”
