PANAJI
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday demanded the mortality bulletin of 74 deaths due to Covid that were not reported earlier by the private hospitals where they occurred. In all there are 74 deaths that were not reported as per government figures, said AAP Vice President Adv Surel Tilve.
He pointed out that initially it was said that 67 deaths were not reported then they added five more and now two more deaths were declared thus bringing the total to 74.
Adv Surel pointed out that while the media bulletin issued by the government mentions these deaths in their mortality bulletin is not declared. The mortality bulletin gives details like name of the deceased, the date of admission of the deceased, co-morbidities the patient had, reason of death, whether death occurred within 24 hours and whether the patient was vaccinated.
“All this information is very important and in the case of these 74 patients has not been provided and therefore we demand that the government immediately release the mortality bulletin of these patients,” said Adv Surel.
Adv Tilve also pointed out that government had appointed Nodal officers for the Central admission purpose, were they not aware of these lapses? If not, then why? It’s a matter of grave concern and that is why we are demanding for judicial probe and till then Rane should resign on moral grounds.
The mortality bulletin besides giving the status of vaccination will also help determine the serious lapse from the administration.
Urban status: Calangute VP resolution shows people were aware of real intentions
PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party has said the resolution passed by the Village Panchayat of Calangute yesterday shows that people of the village were aware of the real intentions of those behind getting Calangute notified as “urban” area.
AAP Calangute leader Manuel Cardozo said that the issue came up in the Panchayat meeting only because people of Calangute were unanimously and vociferously opposed to the destruction of their village.
“But the matter does not end here. We will keep up the pressure until the notification is officially withdrawn,” Cardozo said.
Cardozo informed that people of Calangute have appreciated AAP’s continuous actions on the matter, including the memorandum sent to the Chief Minister and concerned authorities.
