AAP leader Valmiki Naik pointed out that in 2020 the Chief Minister had inspected the old GMC building at Ribandar and assured the people that it would be converted into a full-fledged primary health centre having 30 beds for patients.
In fact, the Health Minister himself who also inspected the building stressed the need to refurbish the building first and reiterated that a primary health centre would be set up there to cater to the needs of the people of Ribandar, Chimbel, Merces, Divar, Old Goa and surrounding areas, he said.
The Health Minister had promised to provide facilities for good health care to the people by stating that health is a priority and said that if necessary the facilities at the proposed health centre at Ribandar would be enhanced. However, it is surprising that the Chief Minister has now announced that an Ayurveda centre would be set up at the premises in Ribandar, said Valmiki alleging that the delay in starting the primary health centre was only because of pressure from Minister Shripad Naik.
