Around 300 beds were available on admission at the Margao-based government hospitals -- South Goa district hospital and the ESI hospital as on Wednesday evening.
While around 228 beds were vacant at the South district hospital at 9.15 pm on Wednesday, another 73 beds were available at the neighbouring ESI hospital.
Admissions have also further come down at the two hospitals in the last few days, leaving around 300 beds vacant.
At the ESI hospital, the bed occupancy was around 167, with around 89 patients on oxygen and 9 on Remdesivir.
ESI Medical Superintendent Dr Vishwajit Faldesai informed that the hospital recorded around 24 new admissions in the last 24 hours. “The total number of patients admitted in the hospital as on Wednesday is 167. While the hospital recorded around 24 new admissions, around 26 patients were discharged today (Wednesday)”, he said, adding that no death was reported in the hospital on Wednesday.
