AAP Goa plans booth-level push ahead of 2027 Assembly polls

AAP Goa plans booth-level push ahead of 2027 Assembly polls

PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has launched a drive to strengthen its grassroots organisation, assigning responsibilities to taluka, ward, and booth-level leaders as it prepares for the 2027 Assembly elections.

In a state office bearers’ meeting held in Panaji today, AAP Goa President Valmiki Naik and Goa in-charge Atishi Marlena outlined plans to build a disciplined party structure and step up engagement with local communities.

“Our strength lies in our organisation and our connection with the people,” Naik said, noting that the party will focus on building a strong booth-level structure in every taluka so that AAP remains rooted in ground realities and people’s issues.

Working President Gerson Gomes said the meeting was aimed at action rather than discussion, adding that leaders were tasked with raising local issues such as healthcare, roads, environment, unemployment, and governance failures in their areas.

“Clear tasks have been assigned to leaders so that organisation building happens in a disciplined and time-bound manner,” Organisation Secretary Prashant Naik said, describing a strong internal structure as “the backbone of any serious political movement.”

Senior Vice President Sandesh Teleikar Dessai added that the party’s 2027 agenda will be shaped by public opinion, with leaders engaging communities to inform future alliances. “Politics and alliances must serve Goa, not individual interests,” he said.
