Aam Aadmi Party national spokesperson Raghav Chadha has accepted the invitation of Goa Power Minister for a debate asking where and when Cabral would like to debate on free power.
In a press note issued here, AAP said after the announcement by Delhi CM and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal of giving 300 units free power to Goans if the party came to power has rattled the BJP.
The party said Cabral has been impacted by the announcement and faced questions why his ministry was not able to provide free 24x7 power to Goans.
The press note said Cabral had issued this challenge last time too and then went into hiding when Chadha came down to debate with him. The AAP wonders if Cabral would show up for a debate this time, it added.
Chadha said, “Once again Power Minister Cabral has invited me for a debate with him on the power issue and I’m happy to accept. I await eagerly the time and location of the debate.”
“Let there be a free and honest debate between the BJP Model that Cabral and Sawant talk about and the Kejriwal Model that has won national and international renown. I think all of Goa is eagerly awaiting this debate,” added Chadha.
While making the announcement on free power, Kejriwal had said that he was not making any hollow or election promises. He had said of the promises made were implemented in Delhi and 73 per cent of households there get zero bills. He had said when implemented, 87 per cent Goans will get zero bills.
