AAP to contest both LS seats

PANAJI

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), fresh off its newly acquired national party status, has set its sights on both the seats of Goa for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2024.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Rajya Sabha MP and Aam Aadmi Party National General Secretary Sandeep Pathak said that the party has already begun the process to nominate its candidates for the ensuing polls.

The party’s decision comes barely a fortnight after it received the national party tag in a decision by the Election Commission of India.

The party led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been spreading its wings to various states through State assembly polls and in the current move; it plans to make its presence through parliamentary elections.

In the recent Goa assembly polls, AAP contested 39 seats and supported an Independent candidate.

Pathak claimed that AAP’s constructive politics is the only option to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party’s destructive politics.

Pathak further alleged the “BJP is not in the country to serve the populace; rather, they are looking for methods to consolidate their power nationwide”.
