MAPUSA
With a promise to set up six vaddo clinics providing walkable access to quality primary healthcare, plan to implement doorstep delivery of many government services and aim to introduce hop-on-hop-off bus network, Aam Aadmi Party presented an innovative manifesto to voters of Mapusa.
The manifesto has no mention of Ravindra Bhavan but state-of-the-art bus-stand has found its way in the document.
The manifesto is high on basic needs such as water and sanitation, waste management, traffic management, health, administration and law & order. “This manifesto is not a jumla. We will implement it with letter and spirit. We have done it in Delhi and we will replicate it in Mapusa,” said Pradeep Gadi Amonkar, State member of AAP.
Amonkar was addressing a news conference after releasing the AAP manifesto for Mapusa on Tuesday in the presence of AAP candidate Shekar Naik, North Goa AAP convenor Sunil Signapurkar and others.
Moving away from the beaten part, AAP manifesto promises to hold “Vaddo Sabhas” wherein MLA will hold public discussion in presence of local councillor, area engineers and officials to ensure people’s concerns are heard and rectified.
In an attempt to tackle the chaotic traffic scene in Mapusa, AAP plans to decongest the city with multiple measures such as ring roads, parking facility at city entry points, comprehensive hop-on-hop-off bus network etc.
It also mentions of improving policing, including special efforts for women safety and implementation of CCTV system.
Effective and affordable waste management solutions and ensuring underground cabling, pedestrian safety features such as footpaths, proper lighting and signages across all roads and several other issues were mentioned in the manifesto.
“I am disgusted at the political ‘dalaali’ that is going on. The candidates from both BJP and Congress come from the same stable that has created a mess of our city for past two decades,” said Shekar Naik, AAP candidate for Mapusa.
He said AAP was the only party that had a firm vision of corruption-free and people-focused governance.
