In a bid to unite the BJP cadre and resolve differences with former speaker Anant Shet, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant along with BJP’s Organisation Secretary Satish Dhond met Shet in Mayem on Tuesday and sought his support to North Goa BJP candidate Shripad Naik for the Lok Sabha polls.
Dr Sawant and Dhond requested Shet to join the campaigning of North Goa BJP candidate Shripad Naik in the constituency.
The chief minister annd Dhond were accompanied by former sarpanch Vijay Pole, former BJP Mayem block president Ladko Kinalkar and others.
Dr Sawant later convened a special meeting with Shet’s supporters and appealed to them to come together, since bringing all BJP groups to canvass for Shripad Naik would help the party.
Dhond also requested the BJP workers to set aside their differences and be united to ensure the victory
Naik.
Shet claimed he had differences with the BJP in the past, but said he had now decided to extend full support to Naik in the LS polls.
