A number of leaders of Goa’s AAP unit assembled in Panaji to condemn what they called “vendetta politics” of Delhi.
Speaking to media persons, Elvis Gomes, State Convenor, AAP-Goa, said, “BJP and Congress can’t digest the fact that an unprecedented mandate was given to AAP to rule in Delhi. If you see the trend right from the beginning, it has always been to somehow sabotage the work of the AAP government (in Delhi). Now, CM Arvind Kejriwal is being restrained from performing his constitutional duties.”
AAP-Goa’s protest was called after the political mood in Delhi has remained tense over last one week after it was alleged that Delhi’s Chief Secretary, Anshu Prakash, was assaulted at Kejriwal’s residence by AAP’s MLAs.
Gomes continued, “What is happening is nothing but vendetta politics. The people’s will is now getting translated into visible action in Delhi. And, people of the country are realising that AAP has shown that aam aadmi himself can take over the reins of the destiny of billions of people of the country. That is shaking the foundation of BJP, Congress and mainstream parties.”
“AAP Goa unit condemns…That is the reason, volunteers have gathered to show solidarity to Kejriwal and the people working with him. We are not going to be cowed down by these kinds of attempts,” he continued.
Gomes also criticised the workings of BJP and Congress in Goa. He said, “The kind of politics that is followed here, the camaraderie between Congress and BJP is getting exposed. Congress, though it was given a chance to rule, has taken on the role of opposition. But, there is no ruling and no opposition, they are all one, as it has been witnessed recently when everyone came together and cut short the assembly. There is no direction left in the state. That’s where AAP is poised to fill the gap.”
