A police team returned to Vasco on Saturday along with the two alleged kidnappers and the rescued infant from Mumbai and later reunited the baby with the mother.
The two accused, Deepak Yadav alias Langda and Pramila alias Kani were arrested under Section 363 read with 34 IPC and Section 8 of Goa Children's Act. The accused were later remanded to two days in police custody by a JMFC court.
"After Vasco police received a police complaint, the police received a tip-off that the accused had left for Mumbai with the baby. The Vasco police then alerted the Maharashtra police and sought assistance to help solve the case and rescue the baby,” said a source.
“The police later received information that both accused had reached Mahim-Mumbai and the Vasco police team got in touch with the Pydhonie police station and managed to nab the accused along with the baby.”
“The police team then brought both accused and the kidnapped baby to Vasco and the team arrived on early Saturday morning," the source added.
Meanwhile, PSI Yeshwant Mandrekar of Vasco police station is carrying out a further investigation under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of SDPO Gurudas Kadam.
