Told to report monthly to police

The High Court has granted conditional bail to Joe Pereira, who was arrested by Colva police on February 6 in an alleged attempt to murder case.
The Court ordered that the applicant, who is currently in judicial custody, be released on bail upon executing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 with one or two local sureties of the same amount, to the satisfaction of the concerned Sessions Court.
He has been directed to appear before the trial court on every hearing date, unless exempted by the court. He must also report to the concerned police station once a month, on the first Monday between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon, and whenever required by the investigating officer. He has been asked to deposit his passport with the police.
The Court stated that he cannot leave Goa or India without prior permission from the trial court. He has also been told not to contact or influence the complainant, witnesses, or anyone connected with the case.
Further, he must inform the court and the investigating officer of his current address and contact number, and update them about any changes. The Court also directed that he shall not enter the jurisdiction of Orlim Village Panchayat until the statements of the complainant and his wife are recorded.
