A labourer was murdered and thrown in a well at Vaidongar, Parcem. The murder took place somewhere on Saturday and came to be known on Sunday. Police have later arrested an accused for allegedly committing the murder.
The person who has been murdered has been identified as Santosh (age between 50 to 60 years).
This labourer was staying as an caretaker of the house, farm and cattle of one Anita Petkar.
The incident came to light when locals saw the body of the victim in the well. After locals informed the police, they arrived at the crime seen and the body was fished out from well by fire personel Prashant Dhargalkar and his team.
DySP Sudesh Naik, Police inspector Vikram Naik along with his team came to the spot and during interrogation got a lead about the accused Anil Zatye of Surla who was also working along with the victim in the farm of Anita Petkar.
Accused has been arrested from his native village. The motive of the murder is yet to be known.
Police are further investigating the case under the guidance of Superintendent of police Shobhit Saxena.
The fire department personel Prashant Dhargalkar, Pramod Gawandi, Amol Parab, Rajesh Parab,Amit Sawal took efforts to fish out dead body from the well after the Panchanama was done by police.
His body has been sent to Bambolim for post mortem.
