MAPUSA
Hitting back at the BJP, the North Goa District Congress President Vijay Bhike on Sunday said that the leaders of the saffron party should first put their house in order instead of lecturing the leaders in the Congress party.
“Wherever Fadnavis has been deputed by the party, the BJP has done badly. He has brought bad luck to the BJP. Today the BJP is reduced to a state where the party is even struggling to find candidates in constituencies where they have a sitting MLA,” Bhike said.
“Fadnavis should focus on strengthening the organisation and spend the next few years when they will be in the opposition in trying to rebuild the BJP,” he added.
The North Goa District Congress President was responding to the BJP leader and former Maharashtra CM’s charge that the Congress candidate Michael Lobo was fielding proxy candidates to run his writ in Bardez.
Bhike said that the Congress candidate of Mapusa was receiving overwhelming support from people across the constituency and would be elected to represent the constituency.
Meanwhile, the Mapusa Congress Block slammed the BJP’s Mapusa candidate, Joshua D’Souza for his lack of vision and for taking the people of the constituency for granted.
The Mapusa block President Shashank Narvekar asked the Mapusa MLA to point out even a single project in Mapusa that the BJP can claim to have given them over the last 25 years.
“The Mapusa MLA keeps harping about youth and how he will focus on the youth. The MLA should point out even a single project in the city that has given jobs to the youth over the last five years,” Narvekar said.
