Action against landlord demanded
PERNEM
Pernem Swabhiman Sangatana (PSS) on Friday urged Pernem Mamlatdar Rajesh Azgaonkar to initiate stern action against the landlord, who allegedly evicted an elderly woman from her mundkarial dwelling at Vithaldaswada-Morjim.
Devendra Prabhudessai, Adv Prasad Sahapukar and Narayan Mayekar submitted a memorandum to Azgoankar requesting to take stern action against the landlord.
“The landlord tried to create tension in the village and if action is not taken against him, then there could be a law and order problem,” stated the memorandum.
It may be recalled that the landlord entered the the house of Satyawati Tari and allegedly damaged Tulsi Vrindawan on November 15. After locals agitated, Mamlatdar Azgaonkar on Monday passed a temporary order to allow Tari to enter her house. The matter, which was fixed for hearing on Friday, could not take place and the matter will come up for hearing on December 7.
