PORVORIM
Porvorim constituency has become a hotspot for Covid cases, with nearly 300 active cases being reported, including four staff members of Porvorim Primary Health Centre (PHC).
According to the Porvorim PHC, 19 positive cases were reported on Tuesday and 15 positive cases were reported on Wednesday, taking the overall count to 296 active cases.
Most cases are from Socorro, Salai, P&T colony, Betim and Government quarters.
So far, four deaths have been reported in Porvorim constituency, one each from P&T colony, Torda, Porvorim plateau and Socorro.
The four Porvorim PHC staff members who tested positive are from Pernem (2), Mapusa (1) and Socorro (1). All of them are under home quarantine.
As a result, work has been affected and the Porvorim PHC, which is already understaffed.
Meanwhile, the sarpanch of Salvador-do-Mundo, besides a panch and junior staff from Penha de Franca panchayat have also tested positive for Covid.
