MARGAO
Perhaps for the first time since the second Covid wave triggered a huge surge of cases last month, Day one of June month has rung in good news with the number of active cases in the Margao Urban Health Centre falling below the 1,000-figure.
The situation at the primary health centres in Salcete has also seen cases coming down drastically compared to the peak of the second wave last month.
A glance at the health bulletin shows that the number of active Covid cases in Margao UHC is now pegged at 923. This is the first time that the cases have fallen below the 1,000-figure. During the peak, the number of Covid cases at the Margao UHC had almost touched the 3,000-mark before coming down to the 923 on Tuesday.
Margao Urban Health Officer, Dr Anju Kharangate informed that the number of persons visiting the health centre for the home isolation kits have come down drastically in the last few days.
