Speaking alongside Chodankar, Adv Rodrigues urged the electors of both the constituencies to extend their support to Congress and punish the BJP for unnecessarily inflicting bypolls for their vested interest. "Panaji has not seen any development in the last 25 years under Manohar Parrikar. Now, he is asking for another term to solve Panaji's issues. He is not easily accessible to the voters," Adv Rodrigues stated.
Adv Rodrigues warned the ruling disposition against dividing the electorate along the lines of caste, creed and community while challenging Parrikar to an open debate. He also predicted that the corporators of Atansio "Babush" Monserrate will silently work against Parrikar. "They were tortured by Parrikar and will not be loyal to him," Adv Rodrigues claimed.
Adding to the statement of Adv Rodrigues, Chodankar stated that the general public in places like Ribandar face basic problems like regular water and electricity supply and no proper crematorium in place.
