The Adarsh Krishi Sahakari Kharedi Vikri Prakriya Saunstha Maryadit, Balli, will launch the Adarsh Micro welfare scheme to mark the 26th foundation day of the society on January 1, 2019, which will benefit thousands of farmer members of the society.
Society Chairman Prakash Velip told the media on Friday that the Adarsh Saunstha will also put in place expansion plans, including setting up of the Adarsh modern rice mill, Adarsh multipurpose complex at Arlem-Raia; Adarsh Go Shalla, Adarsh nursery; organic coconut farming, besides an Adarsh Krishi Bazaar at Arlem.
Velip said the Adarsh Soceity has grown to a size of Rs 130 crore in a span of 25 years and now retains the second position in agricultural marketing in Goa. He said the paid up share capital is now pegged at Rs 210 lakh, reserved and surplus at Rs 352 lakh; deposits at Rs 576 lakhs; loans and advances at Rs 3140 lakh; investment at Rs 2292 lakh, adding that with a total turnover of agricultural goods pegged at Rs 4000 lakh during
the last year.
To a question, Prakash said the main aim of the society is to promote agriculture in rural areas and ensure that farmers get appropriate value for the goods they produce and also receive the payment on time.
“The society has come out with a vision to uplift the social and economic status of its members by producing more agricultural goods in a mechanized way to increase productively and inculcating saving habits amongst them”, he said, adding that the shareholders should get quality of services through the
spirit of cooperation.
