The South Goa Sessions Court on Wednesday examined former deputy collector and now South Goa Additional Collector Johnson Fernandes in the Balli riots case that resulted in the death of the two tribal youth in 2011.
Around 14 persons have been named as accused and are now facing trial for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The case was investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation, which later charge sheeted the 14 persons for murder,
but the court later framed charge against the accused for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
