SANGUEM
After a long wait of almost three years, hotmixing of a damaged portion of the main road between Dando Junction to Sanguem Police Station began on Tuesday.
In the last week of December, Sanguem Councillor Meshu Dcosta and his supporters had threatened to lead an agitation at Sanguem if the damaged portion is not repaired by January 10.
D’Costa had highlighted the hardship faced by the people while using the damaged portion of the road for the last three years. He also recalled accidents which took place in the area involving two-wheelers and the assurance by Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai that the road would be hotmixed by the first week of November.
Incidentally, authorities began the work to hotmix the road from Dando to Sanguem on the very last day of the deadline set by D’Costa.
