CANACONA
The famed Agonda coast has come alive as several visitors have arrived to enjoy the weekend in the village.
According to locals, the Canacona coast, which has two top-rated beaches at Palolem and Agonda, has been receiving several domestic tourists from different parts of the country.
Domestic tourists have been noticeable on weekends, with many private vehicles reaching on these beaches.
About a dozen tourism structures have opened up for seasonal trade at Agonda since October 1 and are doing steady business with domestic tourists.
Seasonal tourism also began at Palolem and nearby municipal areas.
Incidentally, some foreign tourists had extended their stay during the Covid lockdown period while a few are staying in the taluka, others are residing elsewhere in the State. They are the only foreign tourists visiting the beaches at Agonda and Palolem, as many tourism stakeholders eagerly await the arrival of international tourists to Goa.
