CANACONA: Agonda Sarpanch Nilesh G Pagi has resigned from his post, citing personal reasons. His resignation was received by the Director of Panchayats on October 30, 2026. In his letter, Pagi invoked Section 50(1) of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994. He said Ramnath Velip would be his successor and assured cooperation for a smooth transition. Speaking to The Goan, Pagi described serving Agonda as an honour and thanked villagers for their support and trust. Former panchayat members and social activists appreciated his tenure, citing improvements in roads, cleanliness, waste management, street lighting and public amenities.
