Speaking to The Goan, GMC Dean Dr Pradeep Naik informed that Wagh was on ventilator support from the day he was admitted and had shown no change in his condition.
“Since there was no change in his condition his family decided to move him to another place,” he said.
At GMC, Wagh was being treated by cardiovascular department doctors Dr Guruprasad Naik and Dr Manjunath Dessai. Doctors from other departments including nephrology and neurology were also consulting.
Wagh was on Thursday evening at 8 flown to Mumbai from where he was airlifted to Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar paid a visit to the hospital. Other officials who paid a visit included Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava as well as Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamletdar.
Wagh, had earlier in the year suffered a massive heart attack and had an angioplasty to remove an artery blockage.
