Aldona MLA vows to use tech to reach out to constituents

Aldona MLA vows to use tech to reach out to constituents

MAPUSA

Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira on Saturday said that he will not only use technology to reach out to his constituents but also create a system where people will get the status of their complaints on their phones.

Ferreira also said that he was a representative of all the people of Aldona whether they voted for him or not, and would work for every person in the constituency.

“There is no need for people to come again and again. We will put a good system in place. We will take down people's complaints and do the follow-up. Some works will take time while some can be done over just one phone call. We need to put advanced technology to good use. People can send their messages on WhatsApp to me. I will note it, put it in the system and try to resolve the problem/issue. You will then get a message/call showing the status of your complaint,” Ferreira said.

The Aldona MLA was addressing a gathering after opening his first MLA office near the St Thomas HSS, Santarxette, Aldona.

Ferreira said that the MLA office will be a contact point for the people who can come and meet him and share their grievances or make suggestions.

“This office will be people’s office. I got elected because of the people and will serve each and every person in the constituency. I will also try to open another office on the Mapusa side where our constituency has been divided by the highway with Shetya-vaddo on one side and Acoi and Kamarkhazan on the other,” he said.

He also said that a lot of creative people like writers, painters, artists, musicians etc prefer to live and work in the constituency.

“It’s not only in Aldona, a lot of people also live in Moira, Bastora, Uccasaim, Nachinola and even in Pomburpa and Corjuem. We want to do something good. I want to revive the glory of the constituency,” he said.

He further disclosed that he has made a requisition to the government for the appointment of Siddesh Nagde, who is a resident of Aldona, as his personal secretary (PS).

“He is a simple and honest person. He will be the contact point for much of the official work in the government departments,” he said.
