 Taking cognizance of the Vasco youth who died from suspected dengue, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida on Monday morning convened a meeting on health-related issues with health officials at the deputy collector’s office.  

Vasco urban health centre incharge Dr Rashmi Khandeparkar, Chicalim sub district hospital officer Dr Rajendra Borkar, dy collector 

Paresh Faldesai, MMC chairperson Nandadeep Raut, MMC chief officer Gaurish Shankhwalkar and parish priest of St Andrew’s Church Fr Gabriel Coutinho were among those present at the meeting.  

Later speaking to reporters, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida said there were complains that SDH staff were not behaving properly with patients. “The second issue is about cleanliness and other issues at SDH. We have given a 10-day time to SDH doctors to look into these issues and rectify 

the same with necessary changes.”   

“I have already spoken to Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane regarding facilities at SDH and he will come 

for a personal visit to SDH once he returns to Goa,” said Almeida.
