Promising her continued commitment and dedication towards improving the living conditions of the people of Zuari Nagar, RDA Minister and Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha has assured that work on the market complex would begin shortly.
Saldanha was addressing a gathering after she, along with Cortalim BJP block members, paid rich tributes to the founder of Indian Constitution Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary, near the old petrol pump at Zuari Nagar, Sancoale.
Speaking on the occasion, Saldanha said April 14 was a special day dedicated to the memory of a great son of this great nation who dedicated his entire life for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden. She said Ambedkar is rightly called the Father of the Indian constitution.
BJP Cortalim Block president Joel Fernandes and Maruti Dessai also spoke on Dr Ambedkar.
Others present were Narayan Naik, general secretary-BJP Cortalim block, Govind Lamani, Shivanand Bhingi and Rangappa Kamal, panchas of Sancoale Panchayat and Fatima Pereira, ex-sarpanch and panch of Velsao Panchayat. Cliff Vaz proposed the vote of thanks.
