As many as 20 Goan innovations among several from across several states and selective nations, will be on display in the upcoming eighth edition of the India International Innovation and Invention Expo (INEX) 2023, scheduled on November 9.
This is one of the highest for Goa, as these innovations are amongst more than 1,000 ideas that were registered in the State.
Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC) will host the event in association with the Department of Science, Technology and Waste Management - Goa, Indian Innovators Association and IBS Global Poland, with an aim to focus on startups, industrial technologies, technology transfers and marketing Goan products globally.
“So far, we have more than 1,000 ideas registered in Goa. Last year, we displayed around 10 innovations and this year, there will be around 20,” Council Chairman Jose Manuel Noronha said.
As part of the knowledge exchange among the innovator community, the top 150 innovations will be exhibited and published during the expo, of which 50 from Goa include start-ups and projects by engineering students that have a high potential for development into a start-up.
“Innovations from Goa will be provided with the platform during the event as 50 creations by students, startups and researchers supported by the GSInC will be highlighted during the event,” Noronha added.
He further stated that this provides a unique platform to present innovations to the National and Global Ecosystem.
Noronha has also released a brochure and programme highlights that detail the rule of innovation in a technology-savvy world and explain the innovation process.
The INEX 2023 will also feature a jury presentation and shortlisting of scalable innovations, transfer of technologies through collaborators and partners as well as proof of concept from innovators, global market outreach - products from global partners, grassroots innovators, new products launched by startups from Goa, etc.
