Anjuna woman ends life

MAPUSA: A 48-year-old woman from Anjuna committed suicide in her house on Tuesday afternoon.

The woman, Veena Mandrekar, was alone in the house when she took the drastic step to end her life, police said.

The incident took place between noon and 2 pm when the victim’s husband and two children were out. The woman used a saree to commit suicide by hanging, police informed.

Police said the woman was under mental stress. PSI Vijaynath Koulekar is conducting further inquiry.
