Another month, another Maand: Chalo Curtorim

The Curtorcho Maand will be holding its monthly market on St Alex Church grounds in Curtorim from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon on Sunday. 

This time the Maand will have over 49 vendors with a range and diversity.  Deepika D’Souza said “The Maand will have numerous food stalls with traditional Goan food, multi cuisine Indian and international favourites”.  

The much looked forward to stall with livestock and poultry will be there, and also, farm produce, compost and plants and homemade wines, masalas and Goa vinegar made with much patience and care. 

Lovely Lights will be selling a wide variety of candles, a must for those stocking up for Diwali and All Souls and Saints Day.  Curtorim also has a host of talented art and craft people “ crochet stalls, paintings, custom made greeting cards, handmade soap with chamomile, lavender and aloe vera by My Mirror, bamboo craft by Rocky and much sought-after carpentry by Joaquim Gomes. 

There will also be an entertainment prog by local musicians and drummer Levi and Zumba demonstration by trainer Jonathan D’Mello from 10 am onwards.

IFFI registration fee hit by price hike

From Rs 300 in 2019, it is now Rs 1,180

PANAJIA price hike has not been restricted to fuel and other products, as registration fees have also been hiked for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in the State.The registration fees have now risen to Rs 1,180 this year, on account of GST.In comparison, the registration fees were Rs 1,000 last year and Rs 300 for the earlier editions of IFFI.The decision to hike the registration fees has not gone down well among many delegates and film lovers.“The business…
