Areal local booked for cheating
PANAJI: Panaji Police on Thursday booked one Babu Borkar of Sao Jose de Areal, Mugali, of fraudulently inducing the complainant to transfer registration of her BMW 320 D and to hand over the possession of the vehicle thereby cheating her of Rs 27,50,000.
The complainant stated that Borkar, in the month of May induced her to deliver the blank signed forms 29 and 30 for transfer of registration of her BMW 320 D. He further secured the possession of the vehicle under the pretext that he would pay the outstanding auto loan of Rs 7.5 lakh and in addition pay an amount of Rs 20 lakh as a consideration for the said vehicle.
The complainant has further alleged that the accused neither paid the outstanding bank loan nor the amount of Rs 20 lakh to her. He also did not return the vehicle when she demanded for it.
