Arun Bankar hits back at Sopte and Bagkar

Harmal ZP member and BJP's North Goa spokesman Arun Bankar on Tuesday advised former MLA Dayanand Sopte and Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) vice-president Babi Bagkar to look at the development undertaken by Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar in his tenure of 15 years as Mandrem MLA before making any allegation.
Sopte and Bagkar recently in a news conference had criticized Parsekar for neglecting his constituency.
In a press note, Bankar lambasted both the local leaders. “Sopte and Bagkar should look at the developmental works going on in Morjim Panchayat area and also see the beautification work of Morjai temple and development of Kind-Morji,” he said.
Sopte along with his selected supporters had criticized Parsekar regarding the work at Chopdem junction.
Bankar advised Sopte to take stock of all the works. “He should have sought information whether the retaining wall will be kept as it is or it will be brought on level with shops which are situated along the roadside.”
“When Sopte was the Pernem MLA, he could not construct Pernem-Parse road and also internal roads in his constituency. Before criticizing Parsekar, he should have told the people how many developmental works he had undertaken as a MLA,” said Bankar.
Speaking on the issue of casinos, Bankar said casinos were brought in Goa by the Congress government and Congress is responsible for the mining mess in the State.
