Assagao gram sabha on Sunday unanimously resolved not to allow diversion of Mhadei river and urged the Centre to withdraw the permission granted to the Karnataka government’s detailed project report (DPR) on river Mhadei.
“We want the Central government and the concerned authority to withdraw the permission given to the DPR of the Karnataka government on Mhadei river. Mhadei is our lifeline and we shall not allow its diversion,” said Hanumant Naik, Sarpanch of Assagao.
PORVORIMThe villagers of Penha de Franca at the gram sabha held on Sunday have condemned the statement made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Karnataka on Saturday that the Mhadei issue has been resolved. They have unanimously adopted a resolution objecting to the same and to be forwarded to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
