Anjuna Police on Saturday interrogated some friends of the Assagao local whose body was found in mysterious circumstances near the Arpora-Baga bridge.
The 28-year-old deceased Allan D’Souza was an NRI and was supposed to leave for Dubai within two days.
According to police, CCTV footage reveals that the deceased was flung from a two-wheeler which he was riding a pillion even as the rider sped off from the spot.
Interestingly, the bike of the deceased was found around 100 metres away from where his body was found.
Police could not piece together the two instances.
“We called some of the friends of the deceased and questioned them in a bid to get some leads. We are also trying to identify the rider of the two-wheeler on which the deceased was riding pillion,” a police official informed.
He said the rider's face could not be seen clearly in the CCTV footage.
The post mortem on the body has been conducted but the cause of death has been reserved by the doctors. However, the viscera has been preserved for analysis.
Anjuna Police is investigating further.
