Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said the State government has entered into an agreement with industrial associations and the hospitality sector to provide skill training for three-six months to unemployed youth, as part of efforts to provide 100% job placements to youth.
He was speaking after inaugurating the office of Saligao MLA Kedar Naik at Betim-Reis Magos on Tuesday.
“The government wants to provide employment to all unemployed youth and has, therefore, laid stress on Skill Human Resource Development of the youth. Skill development is as important as infrastructure development.”
“During the next five years, over two lakh job opportunities will be created in the hospitality and tourism sector. The government has entered into agreement with industrial associations and the hospitality sector to provide skill training of three-six months to unemployed youth.”
“Besides, several job opportunities are expected to be created at the Mopa airport, IT and hospitality sector in the coming days and Goan youth should take the benefit of this,” said Sawant.
The CM said the benefits of social schemes should reach the poorest of the poor in society.
“It is the duty of the Sarpanch and panch members of the village panchayat to ensure that the people at the grass roots gets the benefits of government schemes,” said Sawant.
State BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said Saligao MLA Kedar NAik opened his office at Reis Magos for the benefit of residents of the area.
“He will open one more office at Saligao so that residents of Saligao constituency can get their work done in this office and need not go to Mapusa or Panaji for petty government work,” said Tanavade.
Saligao MLA Kedar Naik said the staff in the office are trained and would be in position to explain all government schemes in detail to the people.
