MARGAO
At the Sunday gram sabha chaired by Deputy Sarpanch Jayant Arolkar, the meeting adopted two resolutions - demanding scrapping of the proposal to set up a minor port at Betul and to oppose the proposed coal hub at the MPT.
The gram sabha also gave its approval for the budget estimates for the financial year 2017-18. Gram sabha members raised the issue over the construction of the panchayat ghar. Some members also demanded to know the status of the golden jubilee funds, whether the panchayat has received permissions to utilize it on development works.
They were told that though the panchayat had written to the office of the panchayat director to seek permission, the permission has not yet come to the panchayat body till date.
The members were informed about the plans by the GSIDC to build a new panchayat ghar near the Police outpost at Assolna. They were informed that the GSIDC has tendered the work near the Assolna outpost.
