The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday said that it was shocking and condemnable the attack on media persons by sarpanch of Sangolda Ulhas Morajkar and his supporters at the Rozgar Yatra in Saligao, according to a press note.
In the press note, AAP stated that sarpanch Morajkar and his supporters roughed up and threatened media persons while they were taking the byte of AAP leader and taxi union leader Chetan Kamat along with AAP Assembly incharge Sandeep Pednekar.
AAP further alleged that Morajkar went on to attack and accuse the media persons of blocking his car on camera when confronted. The AAP volunteers at all times maintained their stance of peacefulness and stood firmly with the media persons as Morajkar’s supporters started threatening them, the press note states.
“The sarpanch himself behaved in a way that was shameful. He accosted media persons and blocked the road and his supporters threatened media who were doing their job. This behaviour is shameful and condemnable,” said Chetan Kamat, AAP Goa leader.
“It is very clear that this was an attempt to stop the Rozgar Yatra and intimidate AAP. They are scared of AAP because they have failed Goa and Saligao,” added Kamat.
AAP is holding 75 booth level meetings daily during the Rozgar Yatra and on Saturday had three rallies at Margao, Fatorda and Saligao, the press note added.

PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday also organised Rozgar Yatras at Margao and Fatorda.
In a press note, the AAP stated that the yatras were attended by 100s of party volunteers which was followed by booth level meetings that were attended by 100s of residents. AAP has announced a detailed roadmap on how to create jobs in Goa.
In the press note, Sandesh Telekar Dessai, AAP Goa Vice President and Fatorda Assembly-in-charge stated that even highly educated youth are not getting jobs and are thinking of migrating to other states to look for employment opportunities. Fatorda and Margao have been heavily impacted by the slowdown in tourism, he stated.
“Unlike the tall promises made by the elected representatives, nothing was done to create either job or business opportunities since they were elected. The farmers from Goa too are not getting the proper price for their farm produce. The situation is very grim here,” Desai added.
