A Margao Municipal official informed that around 1500 household dustbins which were dumped at the Old market store all these years, were shifted to Sonsodo near the shed. “We are trying to find out whether these dustbins have all gone up in smoke. The baling machines must have been also damaged in the incident,” he added.

Sources pointed out that the dumping of thermocol boxes and material near the shed is believed to have contributed the spread of the fire.
