Ayyappa temple annual utsavam
VASCO: The annual Utsavam of Sree Ayyappa temple, Mangor-Vasco, will be celebrated from January 14 to 21.
Elaborate arrangements to celebrate this year's utsavam on a grand scale have been made. On January 21, a procession (shobayatra) with the idol of Lord Ayyappa will be carried through Vasco city from 6 pm.
Daily aarathi will be at 6.30 pm, traditional Vadyamelam (Keli, Thayambaka, etc) will be performed by artistes from Kerala. There will be annadanam everyday from 12.30 pm to 2 pm.
The utsavam will start with Kotiyettam on January 14 at 6.30 pm, followed by Makaravilakku pooja on January 15, Navagraha Prathishta day on January 16, Devi Prathishta day and Utsava Bali on January 17, Prathishta day on January 19, Pallivetta on January 20 and Aarattu, Shobayatra and Kotiyirakkam on January 21. Cultural programmes will also be staged during the utsava in the temple premises.
