Babush firm on UGDP, says joined G8 only for session

Taleigao strongman and unattached member of the Goa Legislative Assembly said he would take forward his earlier announced plans of reviving the United Goans Democratic Party.

Speaking to reporters, Monserrate who was evicted from the Congress last year, also said that his decision to join the UGDP had nothing to do with the recent ‘G8’ getting together and subsequent falling apart.
“I had joined the G8 only for coordination during the legislative assembly. My plans of joining the UGDP are on track,” Monserrate said.
Prior to the CCP elections Monserrate had revealed that he had taken control of the UGDP and had even applied for a symbol for the party. The UGDP had lost its symbol after it failed to win even a single seat in the last assembly elections.Monserrate had said that he sent three symbols to the election commission, and their approval was awaited.

Tharoor, while listing the names of victims of sedition law under British rule had said Bhagat Singh was the Kanhaiya Kumar of his time.“The biggest victims of sedition law under the British rule were Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Annie Besant,” he said.
