An ordinary ride turned most extraordinary for a man and his family in Dabolim when a snake popped out from the front portion of the scooter on Friday morning.
Luck shined bright on the rider as a snake catcher, Vijay Singh, also happened to be present in the same area and at the same time.
Much to the shock of the rider, his family and onlookers, a small baby cobra was pulled out from the front portion of the scooter.
Vijay Singh said the rider had arrived to the Dabolim market to buy some groceries.
"As he was returning to his bike from the shop, he saw the hood of the snake popping out of the bike’s front panel. He was startled and people gathered and tried to remove the snake using vague plans. I was in the area and I realised that it was actually a baby cobra and fortunately it did not bite the bike rider or the people trying to remove it from the bike as its bite could lead to death in an hour's time without an anti-venom shot," said Singh.
"I later got the panel removed and rescued the baby cobra systematically without exciting the snake," said Singh.
